Our commitment
Child safety is the highest-stakes part of what we do. No algorithm decides who is safe to work with children. People do, before a single offer is sent. Our policies and practices are designed around the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the child safe standards of each state and territory we work in.
Before anyone can be offered work
- The current working with children check required in the state or territory where they work (or teacher registration where it is accepted in its place), verified by our team
- A signed child safety declaration
- Teacher registration with the relevant state or territory authority, or relevant education support qualifications, verified
- Right to work in Australia, verified
- Two professional references, reviewed by a recruiter, including mandatory child safety questions
Ongoing
We track expiry dates and re-check before anything lapses. An educator whose check expires is paused automatically and cannot receive offers until it is renewed and verified.
Culturally safe and inclusive
We respect and promote the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with disability, and LGBTIQ+ children.
Responding to concerns
Concerns are handled through a separate, confidential process with named escalation owners. We meet all mandatory reporting and reportable conduct obligations and cooperate fully with schools, regulators and police.
Raise a concern
Email safety@irecruitaustralia.com.au. If a child is in immediate danger, call 000.
