Specified-work tracker
Live- For 417 and 462 visa holders, aiming at 88 or 179 days
- Log work with any employer, not just us
- Download a summary for your application
- Separate consent from any visa check
Relief teaching usually isn't specified work, and the tracker says so plainly. Home Affairs decides what counts.
Work rights checks
Rolling outDeclare your work rights once in your profile. Checks against the Department of Home Affairs VEVO service are built in, with your consent first and a person reviewing any problem. Nothing ends your work automatically.

Chrome, tap the menu, then Install app.
- Alerts your way
Push, SMS, email or the in-app inbox. Offers can come by push and SMS, so you won't miss one.
- Works without signal
Check in from a basement staffroom. It's saved on your phone and syncs when you're back online.
- Paid for booked hours
By default, pay follows the hours you were booked for, less breaks.
- Availability you control
Set your days, earliest start and travel radius, and block out dates you're away.
- Payroll on Employment Hero
Add your bank, tax and super details straight into Employment Hero. Payslips live there too.
- Referees chased for you
Secure links go to your referees with reminders at 24, 48 and 72 hours. You'll know if one stalls.
You rate schools. Schools rate you.
Quick, private and two-way. See a school's score before you accept, and get offered first where you're loved.
- You rate schools too
After every day you rate the school and the school rates you. Stars plus quick tags.
- See before you accept
Every offer shows the school's pooled score, so you know where you're heading.
- Loved? Offered first
Schools that rated you highly offer you their shifts first.
- Anonymous and fair
Double-blind, pooled, shown after five ratings. Concerns go to safeguarding, not your score.

The fine print, in plain English.
How am I paid?
Weekly, through our payroll on Employment Hero. You set up your bank, tax and super details in Employment Hero directly (we never store them), and your payslips live there too. Super is paid on time.
Do I have to accept every offer?
Never. Go online when you want work and decline anything that doesn't suit. There's no penalty and nobody will chase you.
Who can join?
Early childhood educators with an ACECQA-approved Certificate III or Diploma, early childhood teachers (ECTs) with an approved degree and registration in their state or territory, registered primary and secondary educators, specialist educators, and education support staff, in every state and territory. Pre-service and graduate educators can register interest too.
What do educators need for early learning shifts?
Your ACECQA-approved qualification (or proof you're actively working towards one), your state's current child-safety check (such as a Working with Children Check or Queensland blue card), ACECQA-approved first aid including anaphylaxis and asthma management (such as HLTAID012), child protection or child safe training, right to work and two references. ECTs also need VIT registration.
How long do checks take?
It depends mostly on your referees. Reference links go out as soon as you nominate them, with automatic reminders at 24, 48 and 72 hours, and a person reviews your documents as they come in. Nominate referees early.
How are offers decided?
Only fully verified, available educators within your travel radius are considered. Then offers are ranked on things like the school's preferred list, distance, year level, subject, experience, ratings, reliability (turning up as booked) and fairness, so work is spread around. Nothing about who you are, only how you work.
Is the professional development really free?
Yes. Complete your first 5 shifts through I Recruit and the PD Hub unlocks in your portal at no cost: 48 on-demand video courses from The School of Play Academy, a printable certificate for each course you finish, and a free 12-month ClassBreak subscription you claim from your portal. A shift counts once its timesheet is submitted or approved.
Who can get the free ClassBreak subscription?
Any I Recruit educator who has completed 5 shifts through us. Once you hit 5, you'll find your own personal link in your portal with the code already filled in. It's one subscription per educator, so please don't share your link.
What does ClassBreak cost?
Nothing. No card is needed to claim it, and nothing is charged during the 12 months or after them. It works on the web and in the iPhone app with the same account.
What happens after the 12 months?
If you've taught 50 or more days through I Recruit in the last 12 months, your ClassBreak keeps going free for another year, and it renews every year you stay active. If not, your free year simply ends. You're never charged automatically, because there's no card on file.
Do the certificates count towards my registration?
Each PD Hub certificate shows your name, the course, the date and the duration, so you can keep a record for your PD log; how you count those is up to you and your registration requirements. The School of Play Academy's Certificate in Play-Based Well-being Education, free after 50 completed days, is aligned to VIT and AITSL standards and comes with a 10-hour PD certificate with QR verification for your registration PD log.
What is the School of Play Academy perk?
Once you've completed 50 days through I Recruit, you unlock the Certificate in Play-Based Well-being Education from The School of Play Academy for free (normally $295). It's five video modules with textbooks and workbooks, presented by Dale Sidebottom and Paul Campbell.
Can I Recruit see my wellbeing check-ins?
No. The Better Us Project check-in is private to you. No one at I Recruit can see your answers, and nothing you enter ever touches your offers, ratings, pay or compliance. You can download or delete everything in two taps.
Can I keep all my registrations in one place?
Yes, free. The registration and compliance hub tracks every teacher registration you hold, in any state or territory: expiry, annual fees, PD hours and practice days, with reminders 60, 30 and 7 days out. Your I Recruit shifts become statements of service, and you can download a one-click audit pack. Your regulator's portal remains the official record.
I'm on a working holiday visa. Can you help with my specified work days?
The specified-work tracker lets 417 and 462 visa holders log specified work with any employer and see how many days count towards a second or third visa. Relief teaching usually isn't specified work, and Home Affairs decides what counts.
Is my information safe?
Your documents are private and stay in Australia, stored in Sydney. They open only through short-lived signed links, uploads are virus-scanned, and only our compliance team reviews them. Schools see your verified badges, never your documents.
